Music I Like
I’m including this as a bonus extra section...these are just my favorite songs and why I like them. I could add many more, and i likely will as time goes on. Feel free to skip this part.
♝ Dust and Ashes—Dave Malloy, performed by Josh Groban. This song has an amazing progression, quite literally every note played has a meaning to it. It changed my life upon hearing it, because I resonate so strongly with it. TBH I kin this one no doubles. Absolutely no other song depicts me better. It’s a true musical masterpiece.
♝ I Bet on Losing Dogs—Mitski. This isn’t a musical masterpiece like Dust and Ashes, but I feel very connected to the lyrics. It’s emotional. I get emotional about this song a lot.
♝ Take Five. It’s my favorite Jazz piece, and it’s in my favorite time signature! I like it because of the familiarity of it. I also experience synesthesia, and I just like how this song looks. The colors are similar to that of this carrd.
♝ Elijah Rock—arranged by Moses Hogan. It’s a Gospel piece, and I adore it. When performed well, it moves me to tears. It’s just beautiful...I hope I can convey how this song makes me feel in words some day.
♝ Happy Shape—Hachiya Nanashi, performed by miy_yuu. The singer has an amazing vocal quality, and delivers everything so well...The song itself has really interesting imagery. I honestly just like how it sounds, I haven’t gotten to fully understanding its meaning just yet.
♝ Rutina Eros—Yuri On Ice soundtrack. This song is also visually beautiful in color...I feel like the chord progressions tell an elaborate story. It’s a great composition overall.
♝ Men I Trust—Show me How. It’s calming, I like the lyrics. The progression is also nice.
♝ Thy Mission—The Garden. It’s such an exciting piece! It’s also great for the synesthesia. I often think of this song as what would be the opening to my webcomic.
♝ Goddamned—Mag.lo. Very interesting vocals! I love it. The lyrical theme of the song is one I haven’t heard before. It’s super unique to me!
♝ In My Dreams—The Marias. It’s always calming for me to listen to...It feels ethereal. I love that whole album, in all honesty. Refreshing to hear music in Spanish in the genre.
♝ Brutus—Buttress. The lyrics man...The tragedy of Julius Caesar is one of my favorite fictional works of all time. Hearing this song was just amazing. The delivery is insanely emotional and heartbreaking, I honestly feel stabbed every time i listen. Such a good song wow...I’m amazed it even exists.
